High end hotels have always been accommodating with extra towels, mints on your pillow, and now they are taking that extra step by helping you arrange your cheating session. Hotels like the Four Seasons and the W host guests that regularly visit the premises with mistresses or side pieces, and expect the hotel to help them out of the stick situation if their wife or husband show up unexpectedly.
But how do the hotels keep their VIPs happy and from being outed? They turn to an in house computer profiling system to keep tabs on their guests with everything from photos of the parties involved, to call preferences, to detailed explanations about all romantic encounters. Employees boast that knowing the whole story helps them be more discreet and deal with unexpected situations – like a wife showing up while the husband is having “dessert” with his mistress.
Part of one hotel employee’s job includes clipping articles from newspapers profiling their client’s comings and goings to make sure that they stay on top of the latest gossip. If one client is seeing a certain supermodel on the side, it’s the hotels job to know about it, and to help him from getting caught. But the profile doesn’t end at newspaper clippings. Michael Greenlee, former wine director at Gotham Bar and Grill, goes as far as to subscribe to RSS feeds and Google Alerts to stay up on his VIP clients most recent happenings. Other tricks of the trade involve staff briefings to make sure all staff members know what’s going: including what’s hush hush and what’s not.
