kimairs2 225x300 Interview with Kim Airs, Queen of the Hands Free Jedi Mind Trick Orgasm Kim Airs is pretty much a badass. She rides a motorcycle. Oh, and did I mention that she can mentally make herself orgasm and that her motorcycle is decorated with sex toys? Yea, like I said, a badass. Kim can get-off without any sort of stimulation whatsoever. Using this unique talent, she’s been involved in sex studies trying to better understand the female orgasm and help spread sexual satisfaction worldwide. A do gooder as well. We like it.

So Kim, what exactly do you do and how did you get involved in it?
Well, this is all about being able to orgasm without touching myself – YES – it CAN be done! I learned how to do it by attending many breath and energy workshops, which is what it’s all about. And I was involved in this very interesting study…

How did you find out you had such a unique talent?
I have pretty much always been multi-orgasmic and always thought: why just go for one? Orgasms are some of the best FREE entertainment one can have! So I had the basics of what it’s all about but never had the formal training until 1995, when I attended my first breath and energy workshop with the beloved (and amazing) Annie Sprinkle. Then I did quite a few workshops with The Body Electric that was a program developed by Annie that combines spirituality and sexuality but without any religious overtones (except maybe a few “Oh God! I’m coming!”’s in it). Seriously, it does focus on breath work as well. I was part of the first intensive of the Body Electric for women held over several days in Northern California and when you’re focusing on breathing and moving energy for hours at a time (no kidding), you begin to get the hang of it. It wasn’t til 1997 that I really made all the connections to be able to do this without touching myself and being able to “think off.”

Do you use it on the reg, say in airports or while at work?
I let it flow through me whenever it damn well pleases. It can be if a memory comes back to me and I close my eyes and my body slightly convulses, I usually get flushed in the face and yes, sometimes, people pick up on that when it happens. If I see someone that’s hot, I can pop one off then, too. And it ALWAYS happens to me when I eat uni…

Do you have to be in the mood to get off or can you simply will your way there?
Both. Depends on the situation – it happens pretty easily if I’m doing phone sex. I can even shoot off without contact although the amount is no where near than when I can touch myself but it DOES happen. I can easily will myself to go there, especially when I am demonstrating the technique.

Has it ever gotten you into trouble?
No but I can tell you that people look at me differently after I do this in public. I REALLY think they can figure out what is happening!

When researchers found out about this talent, how did they find you?
It’s kind of a known entity of mine among many sex “practitioners,” as it were. I was recommended for this study by Gina Ogden, a wonderful sex therapist who is totally connected to the Goddess connection which is where I think a lot of this energy comes from. It sounds reallly yin-yang-y but I SWEAR it works incredibly!

What is the name of the research center?
It is in the psychology department, I believe, at Rutgers University in a lab run by Dr. Barry Komisaruk.

What exactly do you do with these researchers?
Basically, I was interviewed when I got there with them asking quizzically “So you can orgasm without touching yourself, right?” Well, duh! That’s why I was there! I responded with a very confident “YES!” They mentioned that my head would be taped down to a tray during the study because it was being done during an MRI of my brain. I chuckled and said “Oh, it’ll be like a bondage session. Won’t be my first, won’t be my last!” and they all kind of looked at each other like “We have a FREAK on our hands!” Lighten up, scientists!!

What are these scientists’ goals?
The goal was to prove this fact: that orgasm is generated by energy flow up the pudendal nerve, which does not travel within the spinal column. There were several able-bodied women in this study as well as disabled women – paraplegics (lower extremities) and quadriplegics (all extremities) who report orgasm. So what they did was to compare the brain waves of ABLE-bodied women NOT touching themselves during orgasm and compare the brain waves with disabled (paralyzed) women. Guess what? There was NO difference between the two, showing much promise for satisfying sexual experiences for handicapped women.

For those of us who don’t have this talent, do you recommend toys? And if yes, what types?
It’s funny about toys – in this case, it really didn’t have anything to do with toys because all of the action was in my head! Just good ol’ lubes, fingers, and some folds in my brain did the trick! But if you do want to use toys, the only ones I would recommend are, as always, the ones that appeal to your visually because that’s your body saying yes to it already, so pay attention to that. Whether it’s the color (although keep in mind that we DON’T have eyes in our nether regions!), shape, material it’s made of, get what makes you think (or say), “Oh, that looks like a nice one!” What works for one person, might not work for you – that’s why there’s tens of thousands of sex toys out there!
